Justice delayed IS Justice denied

You've got to believe this. I was just trying to, like a normal, inquisitive individual , Google the latest updates on the Soumya rape case and didn't find any useful details. So, I thought of blogging on how pathetic the system is and blah blah, because I tend to become wacky everytime I see nothing being done on such important issues. Then I refrained from doing so as I always end up writing long, boring lectures on this , feeling helpless ! Then, on twitter, happened to read a retweet "In 2010: 48,461 rapes in India. 2011: 5 months, 185 rapes just in Delhi! #SHAME" by @jainnimit.

There are the ones that never get registered, or enough media attention, and hence due to no major reporting being done they're denied any action or justice at all. But the ones like Soumya, how much has actually been done? The whole of Kerala was outraged months ago when the incident took place and it seems like the whole truth was laid out by Govindachami himself before the police. When everything is out in the open, why is it taking so much time to punish him? A month back I read few absurd details on how few top advocates are actually fighting this case for the rapist. Apparently 5 of them are on this case and the soul which is not resting in peace is probably up there crying tears of pain, on how pathetic it will further get for all the other women who might have to go through this terrible fate. I can still remember seeing an ad campaign by Ajan Rs regarding this. Watch it below.

There is nothing left to be said after the countless number of debates and counter sessions of justifications. Yes, justice delayed is justice denied. And hell yeah, we aren't going to forget this for a long time until Soumya doesn't get any rightful justice. If there is someone who knows anything extra about this case or on how it is progressing , please be kind enough to mention it here.

When I had a small chat with one of my friends from the media, having read my blog, felt that I'm critical about a lot of things. I agreed during the conversation but, partly, inside myself I disagreed because I always claimed to be a positive human being. But that is sort of contradictory to majority of my blog posts :) Soon after the chat I happened to scan through the archives and did realize how critical I have become of so many things !I was watching news channels today and realized that every half hour there would be some bad news reported. Martyrs being carted in garbage trucks, J Dey murder case, Mayawati's undignified silence on growing rape happenings , SFI clash at Kerala and what not... Invariably I end up blogging about some issue that boils my blood as this is my only platform to pelt my anger on.

Is life all about this ? I mean .. if there is so much of negativity in the world how is one able to heave a sigh of relief? Or are we all just sensitive for a certain period of time ? Blood boils, anger aggravates, angst is poured onto social networking sites which sell like hot cakes! Once the cake is eaten with the cherry topping .. one big fat burp and there.. time to download.

Even news to an extent is like that. There is news hype that ignites debates. Then comes the part where the public retaliates in all possible ways. The witty/intellectual/well-worded tweets make headlines and it's a new day .. a new issue.. a new my-big-fat-media-headlines .

As I type this, I'm simultaneously having an arguement with another gentleman who thinks public perception of actors are that they are talented but without brains. Quite concerned.. your views would be appreciated ..

Buck up India

Just read an interesting, essential mail today which is so apt for the present phase India is going through especially after the CWG mess and Ayodhya verdict and wotnot. The mail was by Dr. Abdul Kalam on how we all tend to react so negatively by just pointing fingers at each other. I am reiterating the fact that we hardly realize the amount of contributions we do as a citizen with voting rights. The blame game just goes on and we have journalists who are so good at instigating us to carry on with this blame game . Not blaming them but sometimes we really have to think. Think about if we are good enough to point fingers at others. I'll quote what the former President had to say

YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.
YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.

YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?

And he also said ,

Take a person on his way to Singapore . Give him a name - 'YOURS'. Give him a face - 'YOURS'. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are.. You pay $5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. He's said it all and I am sure that from tomorrow we are going to keep this in mind but never apply in our actions. We are the ones who ignite everything into flames.. everything from spitting on the road to ill treating our foreign tourists to bribing to disobeying traffic rules. You have to be the change you want to see. Buck up !!!!!

Media on sensational news

Wow.. 2 centuries !! My 201th post :) Watched a big debate on media hyping up sensational news. Well of course they have had their share of mistakes but there are few things I wanted to blog which was prominently spoken by the panelists of the debate. Media has played a very vital role and I do believe that they are the conscience of the society, the people. Cases like the Neelam Katara case, Jessica Lal , Aarushi's and even the Ruchika case would have not progressed this way if the media would not have reported in this manner. Their efforts are totally appreciated. But also in terms of getting into the depth of each case and the consequences of the adjacent angles have to be given equal or more importance. Like one of the panelists had mentioned, Rathore was definitely the centre of attraction in a bad way but after that every news update about the case had only been showing Rathore's politics and corruption. This is the point where the media can actually showcase the running of corruption happening among the police forces, politicians and the judiciary. It's so depressing. Girls are anyways not safe in any area how ever early or late hours of the day and if at all something bad happens no justice is done. I really wish the media could also emphasize on such material facts which could bring some sort of an enforcement of doing things in the right manner.. especially the system of law! Honestly my faith from the judiciary is totally blown away after the Ruchika case. It feels even more insecure and worries to see the gen next of women grow up in such an insecure environment.So *applause* for the media for everything they have done to provide justice !!!

Twittering all the way

I never liked Twitter before because I didn't get the point of tweeting . But now I am beginning to enjoy tweeting along with all the birdies... so you can now follow me on Twitter. Have sung for few jingles and now involved in few good shows. Will update all that in a while. Was watching the kids from Balika Vadhu in Koel's show and I must say that these kids are pretty smart. Sometimes I wish I had half the energy they have . Shyamaprasad sir and Rahul ji are getting the Vayalar award for RITU and I feel thankful to be able to play a small role in this. I and Suchith will be singing for the show on the 26th. Also on the 27th at the Tagore Hall the Vayalar group is holding a show dedicated to the great poet. Tc

We need to kill it first within us ...

Strikes in a way is some kind of a terrorism I believe. Whatever maybe the situation it's consequences are only looked up to achieving the purpose. The whole fun part of studying in India is to experience strikes and have exams cancelled due to them. In fact even today being a final year student my whole class waits for the long bell to just get rid of the lectures. Yes! it's fun . But not all the time. At some point all of us want to study and complete our portions to get a decent 70 % .

It was appalling to read headlines everyday regarding the strikes being held by pilots of reputed airlines. Some must have missed their loved ones, some their most important meeting in their career, some a vacation to free themselves of all the mess happening around and for some a flight could mean another side of lifetime. But little do we think of what's going to happen on the other side rather than being jealous of it. I don't think strike is anyway to achieve any of our 'wants'. Some people are way more greedy to be wanting more than to be satisfied with what they 'need'. I also agree that at some cases some of them don't even get their 'needs' and ask for them. But there is no point in getting them by avoiding your duties. I have always noticed that everyone talks big when it comes to their rights and their requirements being an Indian citizen. But what many of us tend to forget is our duties. Only when we exercise our duties can we legitimately extend our hands towards our rights. I have many a times realized it myself when I ask for something without even performing my duties. We have a little terrorist inside us and we need to kill that first to take anti terrorist acts against the others. We talk of equality and peace by eliminating terrorism and bias. But we ourselves have ignited the flame and now it's going to take a while to extinguish it.


I was just having a small conversation with one of my lawyer friends who supposedly fights cases where her client is the rightly accused one. When I asked her if she takes the help of lies she denied . One wonders how they are successful in winning such a case. When the masters of law fiddle with the law then there is no point in preaching about following the 'right path'. It's been a world with man made rules and with it's distortion we are never going to grow as a planet, a nation and most importantly as a human being. What goes around comes around. This boomerang theory always works so think before you take each step. Being selfish for your needs is not a crime provided your surrounding is not affected by your decision. The time to realize all this was suppose to happen ages ago but it's never too late and maybe now we should stand up and serve for the purpose of humanity.

Muthoot Scion Paul George Murdered

These are one of those times where I really regret not taking up Malayalam as my second language. I was travelling by the Shatabdi which is an extremely good train but I shall comment on it later. I read in bits and pieces about the murder and with whatever I read I am shocked. To the core. It's just not explainable why a bunch of people would do that in business rivalry. Whoever maybe the wrong one revenge in this form is absolutely disgusting. In fact I always believe that God is there watching high above to take revenge with each one's enemy then why should we increase our burden by taking up his job? It freaks me to have to believe to the fact that our security is a big '?' ... till when ? God knows for what reason is someone going to murder me in the future. They don't even need a reason. I just hope that the law comes up with a good verdict in this case cos I don't know I am feeling really bad about this case. Young ,happy lad having some fun driving and booom.. he's dead!

"Sach Ka Samna"

The hype created about this show is just way too less than I had expected it to be. This whole debate on whether India is prepared for it or not is absolutely baseless. TV being the largest medium for publicity, there are umpteen shows today be it reality or fiction... you can just simply switch the channel if you find any particular programme obscene. There are very few people left in this kalyug who want to free themselves off the burden of their sins.. if not all atleast the lies. One should appreciate and someone rightly said that politicians should definitely take up the hot seat. I really salute all those contestants who really have the guts to take up the hot seat and reveal some of the most deadly secrets of their life. And the best part of the show is it is voluntary decision of the participant which actually illuminates the purpose of the concept. Cos it shows the confidence in him/her. HT was discussing about this at centre stage and there was this big guy who was bragging about how unprepared India is to face this. But the best part of the whole debate was when Rajeev Khandelwal asked the big guy about teaching our children to lie instead of facing the truth to which the guy gave an absolutely vague answer. Funnily, the people who have big mouths to say the worst are the ones who end up not missing a single episode...People should learn to accept the good things of our society and should also digest the fact that it's a heap of truth and not a heap of crap. For those who give it a thumbs down .. please make the effort of extending your hands to this gadget known as the remote which is magically the mode through which one can exercise 'ignorance is bliss'.

Neha: Sir, could you comment on the growing popularity of fusion music?
T.M.K: There is always going to be a form of music which is appealing worldwide in terms of the mass. It tries to bring in few forms of music together in one platform. I have nothing against fusion provided it each form is presented well which is easier said than done. There have been few failures and some who have been successfull but as far as the performers know their music well, it's a good way to attract people who haven't been open to Carnatic and Hindustani music. Today, everyone thinks fusion is about asking someone to play a drum and then asking another to sing an alapana .

Neha: What about fusion between Carnatic and Hindustani?
T.M.K: I won't call that a fusion at all...

Neha: I meant their style of rendering is different.
T.M.K: What usually happens is that a performer of one form tries to sing the other and vice versa which leads to a show of rythms between the tabla and the mridangam or the drum or rythm pad ,etc. That's when it loses it's real essence. If done, should be done with a lot of taste which is not easy to find.

Neha: Mam, You are a playback singer too. I have heard that doing a lot of riyaz in classical music could effect the style of rendering in light music. Is it true?


B.Jayasree: I think your query is very subjective and differs from person to person.Being a classical singer who dabbles a little bit into playback ,if the song suits me ,I don't think the above statement is true. It only helps the singer in moulding the voice and in no way can it harm the style. If that would be the case then no classical singer would be able to do playback which is the order of the day. If you know how to compartmentalize it and if the music director knows what he wants to get out of you and is clear about why he wants you to sing a particular song , then there should be no confusion.

Neha: Sir, could you explain me the differences between major and minor ragas?

T.M.K: Firstly, I don't think there is any classification such as minor and major ragas in Indian music. In Western music we have minor and major scales which could be considered equivalent to the swaras in Shankarabharanam and Kheeravani .I would interpret your question as major ragas are commonly sung and minor ragas are seldom used.

Neha: What is voice culture all about?

T.M.K: It's about having the right way of production of the voice for the system your are practising. You may have a greta culture for opera singing doesn't mean you can sing a Carnatic concert tomorrow. Certain people having better voice culture than the other is completely false. Like you had asked Jayasree about playback singing ,it's about being able to adapt to that system of singing depending on what form you are rendering. Each form requires a different way of production, aesthetic flavour and a different intonation.

Neha: Mam, do you Classical singing helps one in being versatile?
B.Jayasree: You have to be versatile to sing Classical music. (all smiles)

Neha: Versatile as in Ghazal singing,etc..
B.Jayasree: The process you go through mental, physical training of the voice is a huge training. One can adapt to another form of music easily.

How does it feel to be cheated by fate? That's what happened to the HT journalist who was shot by some mean guy at the wee hours as she was driving in her Zen. Things can get out of our hands without a hint. My friend Vishnu passed on this thing which Soumya's friend had written after her death:

During the postmortem, the doctor noticed a small entry wound on the right side of her forehead and found a bullet lodged in her brain under the left temple. ‘‘The impact of the bullet was such that a portion of the victim’s scalp was torn off and fell in front of the backseat. The bullet was removed from her head and it appears to be from a .315 bore country made pistol,’’ said the officer.

The car’s window was rolled up when the bullet hit her and the AC was on. She was shot from the driver’s side while apparently driving at high speed, said the officer
The car was apparently moving when she was shot and the only witness to the incident is a cyclist who saw the car hitting the central verge from a considerable distance and informed a cab driver who called the police.

The cops are probing all angles, including road rage. Since the car and her belongings were left untouched, carjacking or robbery has been ruled out. They are at a loss to provide a motive.

‘‘The car was standing in an inclined position, partly on the centre verge and partly on the road, with the body inside. The lights were on and we didn’t notice the bullet injury,’’ said an officer from the Vasant Kunj police station. ‘‘The front tyre on the driver’s side had burst and the wheel had twisted out of shape. We initially thought it was a regular fatal accident.’’

She was young, vivacious, liked by all and good at her job. Now, she is dead. Mystery shrouds the murder of a 25-year-old producer, Soumya.

Viswanathan, from an English news channel early on Tuesday morning at Vasant Kunj in south-west Delhi. Soumya was found dead in her white Zen car with a bullet in her head around 3.40am, about half-a-kilometre from the Vasant Kunj police station on Nelson Mandela Road. She was headed home to C-9 block in Vasant Kunj.

Police said they received a call around 3.40am about a young girl lying dead in her car with the car’s ignition and headlights still on. Initially, it was believed to be an accident — the bullet wound was noticed only during the postmortem.

Rude reality?

I saw a coverage which said about how rude a reality show can get on Headlines Today. The girl didn't dance well and the panel of judges had a list of gruesome words for her. And now she is suffering from Adam's. I feel some people go into depression cos they are never prepared to face the bed of thorns. You can't completely blame the judges for it. To some extent they also do get annoyed with baseless performances. Especially when it's a show that scrutinizes and shortlists the best of bests, to see some shake a bad leg is a punishment for the eyes. If she would have failed an interview ,she would have definitely gone into depression. I mean participants should definitely be prepared to face anything when they are entering showbiz. When you are in a competition where you think it's the path that could lead to death ,you should keep doors open for another chance incase someone pulls you down to earth for another chance to live i.e. if you're sure it is a 'could' and not 'would. I've always felt that apart from giving a grand stage and the oppurtunity of performing in front of eminent celebs ,reality shows shapes up a dream at the outset and then gives it colour. When one is ready to live it ...it fades away like thick fog taking all the colour from it.
I read a very funny piece of article which wrote about how grumpy a news channel can get on it's way to increase it's TRP rating! The best one was the one with CNN IBN (I think) showing that the khukri cannot be flushed even at the 10th try and practically demonstrated it on the screen (Khukri is the weapon that was used to kill Aarushi Talwar- in reference to the Noida Aarushi Talwar case). And the one that said " *breaking news*.. no clues found yet! on ____ murder case". The breaking news is that we never found any clues !!! Hehehe...for a change I liked the whole sham of the creators of obnoxious enigma.

Me, mom and Nish were lunching at Buddhas after some hardcore shopping. We go there only for the Tofu which is seldom found in Indo-Chino cuisine. I think they are found in B'lore but it's white in colour. This is the first Chinese outlet which I have seen that is Vegetarian. It serves food that is full of greens but surprisingly tastes like chicken. More like the soya chunks. We usually start of with the juices and Tofu and then onto the main course. Actually the Tofu we order is a 'chef's speciality' in the menu. Whilst all the hogging we noticed a little hustle bustle outside the restaurant. There were cameras being fixed with a short and stout man checking the mic. There were couple of others who were busy taking snaps from different angles .By then we had gone onto the deserts and I ordered a Mango mousse cake and sis ordered a Date pancake. When I savoured my first bite of the desert I realised that the cake was decorated with ice cream and not cream icing. Since I have stopped ice creams due to personal reasons, I exchanged my desert with my sis and continued with our business.

Meanwhile the media people entered the restaurant and was doing some kind of an enquiry with the main guy there. After which we were asked if we could lend a few words about this place. As we agreed ,cameras were focussed and sis was asked to do the talking first. Later I was asked and I told that I luuuuuuv the food out here and it's a good way of letting the Vegetarians know what Non-veg is like.BTW me a non-veg :) Then mom was asked on the usual cooking stuff and that she is the best person to judge such things where she is the master. This was covered by News X which is a 24/7 news channel. It's subordinate channels are 9X (for music) and some other for sports. It should be telecasted tomorrow by 3 p.m. or so. The news is available in ACV too. So do check out. I don't exactly know what's it all about but it should be a part of the entertainment plus wherein they do a small footage on the food outlets here. The channel is actually from Calcutta. So hopefully I shall be seen on the 'idiot box' for a different reason tomorrow..at Humpty dumpty THREE. Ciaaaaaaaaaaaaao

It has been raining off and on out here. And it's wonderful. Sitting at home is the worst thing to do after exams. I have no clue what to do...My painting book also got over and I have nothing to paint now. Nor do I have any books to read. Coz I didn't bother getting any books from duty free coz of my great camel shopping. So was glued to T.V. last night. Surprisingly I didn't know much about Aarushi murder case coz that was the time I was busy with the Rajanigandha show. Later on when I noticed all the commotion created I realised it must be something huge. A day before leaving for India, my parents had to attend a farewell party and the renowned topic of the night was this. It seems too sad. But what's exactly with the case? It still confuses me. It is the mom or the dad that was having an affair? As of now I think the dad is arrested and taken to some place that is obscure.

There are hardly any good movies to watch. I was watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S again and again, the 10th season that is. Too good. That's what I call comedy. Friends reminds me of this article I read in the newspaper yesterday. It was written on the English spoken by British children. They are so bad at spellings..some still get confused while spelling friends, embarrassed, accommodation, relief, etc. Apparently the reason for such a botch is coz of the lack of attention the syllabus gives to grammer and communicative English. And the sudden rise in the application of the e-lang and the sms libi has definitely made it more convenient to make grammatical errors. The usage of 'u' instead of 'you' and 'gr8' instead of 'great' had made written language a lot more unscrupulous. Nay, that's too harsh. Maybe a little daffy, insignificant and obstinate.

The Know-it-all-author

The IPL has attracted so many eyeballs over the past few weeks that the ladies have even decided to take a break honce upon a time. With SRK taking up the cadgels for the Pom pom girls, Maharastra is not too happy with it. They apparently claim that watching their exposed figures jumping up all the time doesn't give 'shobha' to our culture. One thing , camera for sure need to be placed at another angle. A very purpose effort of the cameramen have lead to this debate ,for the way they capture the movements are even more obscene than the tiny clothes the girls adorn. Anyways as they are never blamed for whatever reasons , there is absolutely no point in banning the girls from doing their job. If it's the fear of opening a world of pain for your child's eye then you might as well stop watching Sania play, Dhoom 2, Fear Factor, Roadies . Infact they should put a ban over Sidney Sheldon's books and for your own good, just sit at home and stare at each other. Coz whatever you wanna do ..be it going to night clubs, or a mall, or the beach, or the slums, or even watching cricket could currupt your mind in a zillion ways. It would be awesome to have a book named 'The World Of Pain -100000000000 ways of corrupting your mind'. Oh.. it would be great coz then we could read and understand what could harm us right? Oh-uh.. but we have a problem.. who are we going to ask to write? A Cricketer?..who has good experience in their link-ups with the glamour world... or actors? ..who have got into so many controversies that it would be a good chance for them to count the times? No-no maybe we should ask one of the ministers to write. After all they are the one who talked big like 'Womanhood is of sole importance in India.. and how can we tolerate such obscene stuff on woman? It's a shame for us and the women' and blah blah.. so since they have 'acheived' the 33% legislatures for us women .. who could be better than them? Keep pondering guys.. and do suggest me your 'wanted author' and to add on spice.. also write the reasons for choosing him/her. TIA

Paparazzi

Just happened to watch the movie unknowingly. Well it shows that life isn't a bed of roses especially for the media circle and also put me into thinking about how the biggies live their life in peace. It was so irritating to watch the paparazzi after Cole Hauser who played the lead actor in the movie. And though it was just a movie it got me agitated and I really wished for the truth not to win ,indirectly. I have written about this before too ,i.e. the media who claim to be exposing are most of the time just exploiting. Ofcourse there has been a lot of exaggeration in the movie ,but to some extent media can get annoying. Maybe we need to go through it personally to digest it. To have you followed all the time , the way you walk, talk, eat ,behave ,my.. that's mollifying. The freedom and the life one is forced to give up is almost like a curse. Then the alternatives chosen like having extra mobiles and bodyguards and a life which is sealed externally..all such a nightmare. Always bothered about how you look and behave and think before you leap each time, boy! that's as good as being a vegetable. I heard that Ishant Sharma could'nt celebrate Holi with his family cos he was deterred by the thought of media and for Sreesanth , that guy has been in news for quite some time making history with hotty celebs and shake-a-legs. And with his Transitional Meditation (Wotever :P), thanks to the media once again , I am so proud to see a Keralite as a hot shot celeb! (No Sarcasm at all :I)

Tourist horror

Scarlett's case has been pretty appalling. And it feels bad to have a fifteen year old teen get strangled into a web of awful incidents. Everyday with new people starring in the news headlines, including the latest entry of her Indian boyfriend, Julio Lobo, spectators have got a new dekho for timepass. And for Fiona ,it's a bundle of problems lined up which will take a helluva time to deal with. Recently , I have been seeing a lot of tourist promotion ads of Goa, after the negative limelight it has attained. Scarlett wouldn't have even thought that her thrilling holiday would turn into a nightmare, especially when she had a big family to take care of her. All this makes me a little suttle when I think about what life has kept for us in the near future. And also makes me thing about how safe are girls in the future. That does freak me.

Man made fate

The planets ,the stars, the revolving earth and so on contribute in some way ,the patterns of our growth in life. They say , Lord Brahma, the creator draws the fate line for a living thing ,once written can never be changed. There are many who read 'Today's Horoscope' regularly to see their future ,perhaps succinctly, in the present itself. Some work ,some are just utter rubbish. Let me tell you ..I used to subscribe for this magazine which was issued on weekly basis only for it's horoscope. And trust me ...it has always worked. Being a hindu its is a natural thing for my parents to look into my horoscope once in a while to see if I will rule a kingdom or if I will land up cornered at the streets. My friend and I were discussing on this sensitive issue and he was telling me that if astrology was considered a major priority in life ,shouldn't we have to look into our own parent's and sibling's horoscope as to see if we can get along with them. And mind you what if the stars don't match? or what if the zodiac sign seems to be totally rebellious to each other? ...that should probably commence a divorce system within the family. Then maybe the lawyers would be having a great time looking at their 'money line' grow wierdly long in their horoscope. Aah! funny are life and it's ways.

So many marriages are bond on the basis of the horoscope system. Some make records and some form a part of the failures. If the newly married bride brings in a casket of happiness , everyone has the time only to praise and rejoice over the lucky bride. Whereas on the other side if she is reponsible for the boy's failure in everything he does then *whoa* the horoscope is forgotten to be blamed and instead the girl gets the inevitable tag. When asked to an astrologer about how the other religions manage successfull marriages without the star check and everything. He said ..'ya that is a question shot at us frequently.. all we have to say is .. the planets will do their job'.

And the horoscope topic has become more than ever important in the history of media after the much spoken about wedding of the year: Abhi-Ash wedding, where she is a 'manglik' which was supposedly considered a reason for Abhishek's could-be-death and fall in career.And after getting Ash married to three trees and gifting the diety anklets made of gold and wotnot , it was accepted as a wedding that should work for ever.Whether it is true or not ,if things were so easy , we should probably find solutions to fight death. Or maybe poverty, literacy, unemployment, scarcity of water and phew! the list goes on....More than blindly believing in horoscopes ,we should believe in ourselves. Our planets move according to our minds. It's the working of a subconscious mind. If we are positive inside ,we tend to work positively and that reflects in our attitude and work.I am not anyone to comment on the power of astrology. But one thing is for sure, we won't gain anything by being a pessimist. You should dominate your fate line. Dream your lives and live your dreams. If you are clear on what is your happiness then all you need to do is put in some sincere hardwork without any ill feelings about your plans and ofcourse the prayers that will never go unanswered. And see what magic it does. And anytime you get demotivated.. stick a picture of yourself on the wall and smash it with a stress ball until you are convinced of killing that coward within you. Happy Women's day

Another year and yet another Women's Day. And all the media got to show was poor women living in slums, women working for less wages than men and mind you.. the same amount of work. A footage on a teen who was ditched by her husband after giving birth to his baby was also shown. Oh! even if it's something I see like everyday, to see it on a celeberation that to the Women's Day celebrations makes me feel flummoxed. It's appalling to see the tantamount situation each year which just makes it better by getting retrogressed.Waking up to a bright morning only to see the faces of a shoddily shaped women sector.Ofcourse it's not that we can't do anything about it. The list of culprits are way too long and it's unfair to blame it all on them.

Today in college we had a music theraphy session where Dr. Suvarna was explaining us about the importance of musical healing in our life. She showed us a profile picture of the human body in which rays of light were interepreted,in the picture ,in the form of colours.Beggining with the white shade depicting the sun's ray.The white shade is then followed by the VIBGYOR.Out of this I will explain the impact of colour green and red. The colour green falls on the chest of the human body and to be precise the colour has an illuminous impact on the female body. The Green of the VIBGYOR represents mother earth and the warmth that her child inherits. Whereas Red falls under the abdomen cos of which sexual instincts are born. Excess of which produces the animal instinct in a human. Leads to obvious crimes like theft, rapes, murders,etc. Through musical theraphy they are trying to raise the level to the brain which is embraced by the Violet colour which will lead us to salvation.The presentation was followed by a musical session by Bhuvaneshwari who commenced the concert with a sloka in Nattai ragam followed by a keethanam in Charukesi.

The two extremes of women-the successfull and the less successfull have to be analysed so as to raise the level of humanity and not only achieve the 33% of legislatures.There was this debate on NDTV on the status of women. And each time I found all the ladies arguing about men stopping them from going to work. And the women CEOs said that they would prefer a man working for them cos they are too impatient too tolerate a woman's tantrums.Tantrums or responsibilities? Not too sure about which word to use in terms of debate. If women cannot tolerate women..then who will? Maybe we should be more flexible and should stop thinking self centered. Anyways to make this a happy ending like OSO :) here's a forward ..

Power Puff gals!

Though women haven't got their 33% of the legislatures, there has been a growth somewhere else. Have you noticed about the reality shows? The trophies were always taken away by the male contestants. Infact female counterparts were hardly seen in the final three. And in one reality show , in the wild card episode we had the judges, especially the female one shouting her lungs out on how important it is for a woman to win and that they can sing as good as men and everything but fail to win due to lack of support through the sms. And obviously that contest was won by a male contestant. But now I see a small visible change. I'll explain through examples:
In the Amritha Superstars 2007-2008, Roopa ,so far is adjudged the best by the panel.And even through sms she is the public's favourite.
In the Amritha Superdancers the finalists were four girls. And obviously a girl won the show.
In the Lil' champs telecasted in ZEE Tv, the winner of that show is Anamika again a girl. Her counterparts were two boys.

We also have movies like Chak De! showing that strength is not the only thing required to win everything and that it's the strength of the mind and the will power.Today women can accomplish just anything.Well it's good to see women talent grooming up.There was a lot of debates on a female voice put to comparison with that of a male.But things have proved wrong.. and have reached a point where the men will have to be more carefull competing the women.And yes! it feels good to be a woman.
