I am aware,not a fool

Yes, I hate criticising the Government the citizens elect. But ignorance is bliss. So in my earlier post I had written about the hampered roads and unclean environment our Government seldom takes care of.
On weekdays I have to pick my cousin up from her school daily which is followed by a bumpy rocky road with distant puddles due to the on and off of the monsoon rains. So on a Monday morning being the beginning of a tiring week, I was preparing myself for the bumps. And abra ka dabra...no bumps!! Was I hallucinating or...no..I was sure about the absence of those bumps.Taking my ear phones of, I doubtfully looked outside the window and happened to notice that the roads were tarred! Now I have to acknowlegde the hardwork put in by the Goverment in getting this right. My half an hour journey from college to home has been reduced by fifteen minutes. Thanks to these tarred roads. The Government has done a commendable job. Most of us are critics and seldom realise or tend to ignore the advances made by the Govt. in improving our environment. Or maybe people are too bothered about Rani's discreet wedding or about celeb break ups!

What's with Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt being tried on a regular basis for something they did when I could not even read or write? This is purely being done to attract media attention. What's the purpose? Laws falls under limelight and the celebs run off by bail!Who is getting fooled? Media or the public? Is Salman the only person who hunted the Chinkara or is it that there are others who did it but missed the limelight? I would rather be interested on testifying the Jessica Lal case where Manu is CtrlBstill flying around as a free bird despite public support against him and honest report on the vision witnessed by Jessica's friend.Politics or lack of celeb value?

Good post Neha! But, even though I can share the happiness of a re-carpeted road with you, and commend the authorities for having done a good job, it is irritatingly true that roads (whether Tar or cement) are not designed to wear off every monsoon. Well, they are supposed to be designed that way! Who is responsible for them not being done that way?

And in the Jessica Lal case, it is both politics and lack of celeb value, combined with the Indian penal system, which has enough loopholes to prove wrong any honest person's report!!!!

Shame!

It's nice to know that Government takes steps. I always believe that it is a collaborative effort. If citizens can maintain it, motivate Government and participate in it, then things will definitely happen.

I agree with yyour thoughts completely Neha...I too feel celebrites sometimes just get too much attention from the media & finally they go away scot free and there are many real criminals who just get away from law...nice reading!

Its unnecessary flurry create by media on celebrities case just to being the views of others.

I dont agree with u regarding Salman being tried at all. Irrespective of whether its a publicity stunt or not, the guy needs to be pinned down and shown that nobody towers over the law.

Agreed that many others might have hunted the Chinkara and gone scot free, but that doesnt make the guy any less a criminal. And just coz there are several underworld goons roaming the streets of Mumbai in broad daylight, it doesnt give Mr.Sanjay Dutt the right to do what he allegedly got involved in.
And certainly doesnt give Salman the right to run his car over a few men trying to get some sleep after a hard day's work.

Yeh, they are celebrities and get hunted for crimes that several others have committed. But we need to remember that there are several other celebrities as well, who lead pretty normal lives and dont try to enact their reel life dramas in real life.

Well said Neha.I always look at the positives. Many a times we tend to ignore the good deeds of government. The pushes and pulls of politics are definitely a drag on this beautiful society of ours ,but feel corruption everywhere more than celeb value is the other root cause. Its a sad state that not only politicians but also the public has started accepting corruption as a way of life !Me too suffered the malaise recently !
well, nothing is lost, the current generation will clean it up ,i fervantly hope.
Once again,it is a Nice blog

Hi...Ya we r always critics and not acknowledging the good works...But wait for a month and see whether the road is still there... :D

Yep so true.. don't get too carried away by that "Tarred" road. Just wait for the monsoon to come and go then you would know what was the investment made!!

BTW, to comment about Salman Khan or other gangsta boys, I think the law has to start gunning these big boys some point of time. I know it is hard but don't try to defend the celebs. They can bend arms of the law anyway. Imagine a common man doing this, do you think he would have so many privileges?? I think it is fair to say law is catching up and I wish it stays that way.

For instance, Christian Slater bottom slapped a girl in New York. Promptly the cops came and handled him on the spot as how any other person would be treated. Can this ever happen in India? Think about it.

well the media focuses only on attracting viewers.... the truth, sense n sensibility is lost in the process...
n about govt. making a difference in our day to day life... all i can say is its very very slow... n by rule.. i dont trust any politician n their work...

Media is concerned only abt making money... Though not every1... BBC gives more importance to Indian soliders in Kashmir than NDTV.

a democratic country is founded on the principal of equality for all, whether in rewards or in punishments... anything other than that is not agreeable.

In malaysia, whenever election fever is in the air, we can expect some last minute strategy to be tossed out to distract the people’s attention from the real issues. i.e: you can see more roads are properly tarred.. potholes on that road being patched up... so typical...

p/s: Are you the next Alka Yagnik? :P.. if yes, i want your autograph now... so later, i can sell it on ebay to the highest bidder...

You did the right thing by writing about something being done instead of some thing not being done !

When you become a famous singer,( Which I am more than sure)would you sign an autograph for me too. If you say yes, I will keep this comment as a proof to claim my autograph later easily.

They do good things...but after a lotta pokes and pushing around. The leftover money after keeping the pot bellies satisfied is what we see as govt. work.

Good blog :)
