Yu Saja Chand

OK...finally I've uploaded my video. The organizers wanted a variety piece so i thought of singing a ghazal with my own aalap. It's a ghazal originally composed by Ghulam Ali and sung by Asha ji.The aalap in the beginning is something I added on to give it a better start. The video is a little vague because it was shot through my cell.

subhaan allah!! I liked your aalaap very much (Ofcourse it goes without saying that the rest of the ghazal was superb too).
But if you can eliminate that slight nasal tinge,I am sure your voice will be bolder....
Simply Superb!

Neha,

Enjoyed listening to the song. Loved the Alaap. I was going to comment here asking you to post some videos or audios of your songs. You beat me to it. You should write more about your journey and success stories of the musical part of your life. Good luck with all your efforts.

Hi!
I liked it. Its very good, but it still sounds as if it is few inches away from perfection.Little Nasal tinge too. Probably i felt so because its a live show and people tend to be more conscious during live shows, which actually takes away some essence of perfection.

My suggestin: try recording this one in a good studio. I am sure even you would agree with me.

I am pleasantly surprised to know you have over a decade of carnatic experience. Then i am too small a person in front of you, to even talk about music, because i have just started learning it.
And lastly, could you email me any of your songs(something like this one).
Thanks. Keep the efforts up!

Neha,

long time ago I uploaded songs sung by a good friend of mine on my blog. That time I used a player called ODEO. I tried to go that site just now. I could see the old songs I uploaded but I could not see an option to upload new ones. I think my songs format was .wav. actually i myself need to figure this out as I am trying to upload a live performance by hariharan. give me couple of days and I will write to you in detail after I work on uploading my file.

sorry that wasn't much help. i just wanted to drop here and tell you that i am working on your question.

hey there!

i LOVE this! i've been searching to take some lessons in this style of singing. i'm not well versed in Indian classical music...i just like what i hear in bollywood movies which probably are not got respresentatives of music from India....

Thanks for this!

Neha....am here from Divya's. You have a beautiful voice. In this song you are off pitch at many places. And you do need to do riaz regularly to glide through notes effortlessly. But you should give more serious time for music. You have everything to become a wonderful singer of repute. God bless you.
