Wow!! I really can't believe we won the World Cup! I belong to a category where I don't know half of the cricketer's name...but now I do. To hike up the spirits I went and got jerseys and stuffed our fridges with edible snacks to keep the non-fans interested too :) But the fact is that I lost interest the moment Sachin was out. I so badly wanted him to score a century. But eventually became enthusiastic to watch it partly because we were doing pretty ok...and partly because of Chetan Bhagat's super funny tweets! I had a ball laughing at all of them especially the one where he tweeted about how Maggie should be endorsing Malinga since he endorses the product :D and also about all the kids going 'mummy bhook lagi hai' when they see his yellow highlights :). As much as I hate making sarcastic comments on people or laughing at any, this man, Chetan is just too funny to ignore. And he sort of does it in a harmless way. Another funny tweet was how easy it is to gift Sreesanth a birthday gift- a comb!!! Ok ok.. I guess I need to stick to the topic now... I was checking out Android apps (which are ultra-cool) and got back to watching the match after I heard a lot of yelling and hooting. Something right was happening and so I decided to watch it for the sake of cheering. This is also the only match my sister would have sat throughout... talk about patriotism! The ONLY event where you can they see the whole of India united.
On one end a friend was consoling saying the real match is over when Indian won with Pakistan and this is just a for-the-sake-of-it match. On the other end I heard another friend supporting Srilanka for Jayewardene’s undeterred attitude towards doing the right thing at the right time! There were some funny moments where an uncle claimed to have seen the world cup win in his dreams and was just watching the game to prove he's right! Amidst all this action, my heart went out to the game when I saw Gambhir doing exceptionally well. Few minutes before Gambhir got into form, my whole timeline were filled with tweets of abusive nature and wotnot. I hope all these abusive people realize that they are not perfect and how sometimes a little bit of motivation can really boost the players at such a tight situation! Save your energy abusers... it's not the time yet! Anyhow, Gambhir and Dhoni had this amazing vibe on the field and kudos to them for their intelligent batting strategy. There was a look on Sangakkara's face towards the ending where he knew there was no chance but fought it through with dignity. That look is the look of an undefeated hero. They must have settled for a tea cup but they will still remain heroes for putting up such a tough fight.
Yuvraj Singh !! Whatta man! Just couple of months back he was slammed for being out of form and for being a party animal who is a total womanizer. At that time I was also angry with most of these players who kept partying during IPL series where Sachin, on the other hand, was sleeping early to remain in form. I thought it was the end of this guy but the way he got back and shone right throughout the world cup series is impeccable! Now that is exactly what I call success. The best part of this whole game was that a legacy is coming to an end and is being taken forward by the next worthy opponents. To have Sachin out was planned by God only to show that the future is as bright and shining as ever. The youngsters took over this game beautifully making the winning moment a dedication to the God of Cricket. It was the perfect way to tell Sachin that after him they will carry the responsibility with pride and dignity.
What a fantastic way to begin April 2011 and feels nice to not have to use the 83 video clips every time we discuss about the world cup. Need to pinch myself to see if this is all real...uh-oh!! Mummy bhook lagi hai :) ..Just saw Malinga on TV...thank you CB for making hairstyles a powerful appetizer :D

Fact and Fiction
Have lost complete touch with the Filmi world cos of prior, present and future commitments :) but of late have been able to catch up with some good movies especially animation. I watched the highly recommended ‘Toy Story 3' and 'How to train your dragon' and ended up wanting to own a pet dragon :) Well, the point is how every child is brought up learning that ogres, lions and dragons are monstrous and beasts and having to unlearn all of it after watching animated versions that portray them in the cutest way possible!!! After watching Ice age I fell in love with mammoths; Madagascar made me yearn to cuddle all the lions in the world and my latest addiction is - dragon!! I just realized, on a serious note, about how we classify everything as good and bad. It's all in the mind. Yep! Back to square one! Come to think of it... we all point finger, mimic and ridicule politicians 24/7 for the slightest wrong move when on the contrary...we are the ones who appointed them. Who should be whacked? If everything negative was probably animated in a cute, positive manner, would our perception change? Shrek made everyone love ogres. In fact, nowadays the concept of your *dream person* is more like an Ogre than that of a prince charming. All this because of a man who is creative in graphics! We all are born equal and good and it's situations that make us evil and bad. But everyone should be given that golden opportunity to change. Cos, we all have 2 options. Be happy with what you have, or try to create happiness through whatever possible way. Either ways, the point is in doing it by not ruining others life. On that note, I take my leave... Happy 64th Independence Day

Happy Republic Day !!!

Happy Republic Day to all of you. Though I am still worried about the country's regard towards 26/11, Ruchika case and thousand such problems we can definitely be proud about the declaration of the Padma Bhushan awards..especially to the greatest legend ever, Mr. Illaiyaraja, most admired human being, Mr. A.R.Rahman and the one I consider a perfectionist, Mr. Aamir Khan. It's absolutely great to hear such a good news on the eve of the Republic Day! Let India keep producing such Khans and Rahmans :) and wishing Mother India a great year of environmental peace and tolerant humanity.
The above pic was sent by Dad through some forwarded mail. I found it very attractive and not too loud! Have uploaded few more .. check them out HERE.

Stagnant growth
Fatwa against Vande Mataram? As if India is such a peaceful country that we need to actually sit down and think of giving birth to issues long forgotten to ruin the peace! I wish it were so...How many ever preachings and even practices and campaigns and wotnot cannot change the mindset of the religious thinker. The thing we can cry about and boast about is unfortunately the same thing : our culture. I think what I loved the most about Chak De apart from the script, direction and SRK is the dialogue which was enacted with so much of depth. The face that we need to start thinking from the point of few of India as a Nation and not as a Country of many States. Competition is healthy only when we compete with ourselves and not with other castes.
I don't want to get into politics yakking about how different politicians favour their States or religion. It's much beyond all that if you are looking for upgrading from a 3rd world country tag. Vande being unislamic or not is far away from the fact that we all belong to one Nation. How many wake calls can we give? Or perhaps it's the ignorance of a jobless man. There are a hundred million issues to be sorted out and assessed and we again end up wasting ample time upon issues which have no scope to extinguish. There should be an awareness among the men to educate their women and to give provide equality. Instead, decades after we have the anthem we have communities who find this way more important than sorting out the real issues. If this is a call for a bigger Pak then they are foolish enough to try it at this stage. Open your eyes and look around at all the injustice being done from Bribery to serial rapes and superstitions and we'll be surprised to see that what we are trying to debate on is absolutely worthless. We hardly recall the Anthem on a regular basis so it's high time we put a stop and start progressing in ascending manner .
A Peck on the cheek to Mr. Tharoor for telling all young Keralites when he had been to the Inaugural function of the gurukulam named for Ezhuthachan - " to know the world u must know English, to know Delhi u must know Hindi, & to know yourselves u must know Malayalam"

My first Voting ever !!!
Getting and ID card for this process was a horrible experience...The silly rules and formatting is so irritating leave alone the long queue and name sake fans they have fitted which runs in a speed of a comet! This is not words of a spoilt brat NRI... pleaseee!! .. Ask every single human being who was standing there... each one had a curse on their lips! After standing in the queue for like one hour my turn came and I with a smile bigger than the Colgate one just wanted the signature of the officer there. She gave a brief look and signed and asked to get another sign from some officer bigger than her I guess. Well who cares?? I just went there... and that guy asked for the original copy of my 10th CBSE certificate. On understand from my face that I didn’t have with me at that moment what do you think he expected me to?? He wanted me to go home... which is like 30 minutes and worse with traffic and then go searching like a mad dog for my certificate and then drive back 30 minutes and much worse with traffic. I gave him a very sad innocent face... aaha... nothing could change the man. And trust me...I could feel it in my blood that he was doing it just to trouble me and not because he was loyal to the department and blah. Whatever I was so irritated I asked my parents to carry on... and just stood there jobless... sheeessh... they need to get a life!! And then mom came and tried her best to convince him... I had my passport renewed just a month ago... so obviously it would have got renewed only if I had my 10th certificate... anyways the man was adamant... so I went back home.. He didn’t even bother checking out the certificate... I felt like pointing out my math marks... cos that was the only worth thing to be noticed in that certificate... but who cares?? After all the pain I definitely had to go and vote! For the one and only Shashi Tharoor :)... I've admired him from the time he was in UN...and also cos he is an Indian representing UN. Voting hardly took time cos I went in the afternoon and no one was there. So I got my ID card checked then got some indelible ink on the index finger of my left hand and went and pressed the button next to 'Shashi Tharoor'..With a palm sign next to it. I didn't particularly feeling anything but I felt good about one thing... i.e. my mom and dad voted for the first time with me yesterday. I felt good that I got to vote at 19! And that when I have children I can always boast about it... I hope India enters a more prosperous phase and that all the big problems become miniscule and that we progress a step higher than a 'third world country'... Jai Ho!

An Indian Says...
Another friend of mine Sriram has got into blogging. The person composes such amazing music but never thought he can get aggressive and patriotic in certain issues. Usually chatting with him is a chat full of music and peace and homeliness... but couple of days back he started off with Hindu and Muslim rights and about Varun Gandhi's rights and blah blah that I was pretty surprised that he had such wide thinking... And two days later out of nowhere he pops up with a blog and boy! He is talking! So go and check up with this amateur blogger and do encourage him!

Creative money
Money. The basic necessity. Can buy almost everything except for priceless moments. People are greedy for money. People suicide if there is no money. Money is the solution to many problems. And money is the factor that splits human relationships. Society has classified people into poor and rich coz of money. Money. A big big thing.
Naaaaaaaaaaa! I am not going to lecture how important it is in our life or why we should save or why greed should not spoil a human. Today as I was checking my wallet.. I took out this note of 50 and was looking at it's print coz it was a brand new one.. and the look of a brand new note is something! I have never observed a note that carefully .. as in it's design, features, art or it's colour. I was jobless and decided to give it some limelight. The Gandhi face and the extra designs are picture perfect. And some notes had the dandi march drawing whereas some had the parliament building in it. It's so amazing the way each one in manufactured. Jus a note that could bring us from the chawls to the Ambanis. Have you noticed a different picture on the note? Then do share it here.

Voice of humanity
It is being very hard to survive is this world without fear. However optimistic we are at heart, our self esteem is deteriorating due do lack of humanity. What man has made of man ! I am being forced to repeat a lot of revealed truths yet again for the sake of a lot of people who have not yet responded to the voice of humanity. Touching the feet of elders ,giving a share of your first earning to your elders ,informing your elders when you have migrated to a new place to ensure safe landing...where have all that culture gone? People have forgotten to say an 'excuse me' , a 'sorry' , leave alone a thank you.Infact in the mornings when I walk up to college with full of positive thoughts...I , most of the times, hear a lot from the watchman who speaks with peevish displeasure for not walking properly or for not getting the ID card. These are just mannerisms. The Kidney kingpin , Dr. Arun Kumar, it is shame to have such Indian professionals as a part of our country. The whole racket has been flashing in every news channel and newspaper and has provoked every mind to start pondering about where we are heading. There was another article about a few children who went browsing over the net for finding out ways to cut off oxygen supply so as in to get "high".Ofcourse one kid did die while trying out this which has appallingly destroyed his family and friends and those who are still worried about humanity. For many of you, the word humanity would sound alien and for many of you ..a very far off thing. People still manage to throw wrappers and other wastes in the open without any guilt.I don't see any stalwarts in the making . Nor in the present , nor in the future. Not unless we don't change our attitude. Shashi Tharoor had once spoken about an incident that took place when he was studying in Delhi. His mother had asked her 'sweeper woman' to wash the steps of the building they stayed in. The lady would have obviously benefitted by receiving an extra pay for the job offered. But instead she shot back saying ' why should I madam? The building doesn't belong to you .'
Another problem is that the citizens of India have always behaved with a mindset of being a statesperson. A Bihari, a Keralite ,a Tamilian , a Maharashtrian ,an Assamese ,etc. They don't want to represent India or rather they are just comfortable representing their own state. I've never seen that co-operation , that spirit when each Indian proudly says 'Mera Bharat Mahan' on August 15th anywhere else. Yet there exists a competition among states on who has invested more on the celebrations.Even in reality shows , participants represent their states and in the final stages , it's more like which state can vote more. Even when the participants beg for votes, they particularly name the state they represent so as in to gain an extra vote! Has anyone in the history of reality show claimed to represent India ? The only time I've seen such a thing happening is when they win the competition and ofcourse are 'forced' to walk around saying 'I am the best' and 'Thanks to India for voting me'.We had a finalist who apparently started begging for votes outside a 'thattukada' saying that it's ONLY the votes than can make her win.Hope the viewers don't misjudge the true talent. Like Tagore has always said - Humanity is just like the sun, it can only be clouded , never extinguished. I am signing off with hopes of waking up to a beautiful morning which should be showing me that lil ray of hope to see India emerge as the one and only.

Jana Gana Mana
As every true Indian feels patriotic on August 15th...celebrating her 60th birthday...even i felt proud. But felt even more patriotic when i saw the 'Jana Gana Mana' done by the Asian Mozart himself.. along with bharat bala. Was completely spell bound. The whole set of musicians...the audio and the visuals would have been incomplete without the perfect combo of each and every instrument and voice. Well if all of us have noticed ,Rahman - Bala works are very exclusive and immortal. Infact the other day i had read Bala speaking about how he chooses to work with the genius. Shankar Mahadevan was saying that he had been to Rahmanji's studio to set one of his instrument's right..when they got chit chatting over music..and he landed up singing for Rahman. Well i can't really call that luck...but it's all about being blessed...and being put on the right path. These 60 years would have gone a complete waste without any of them.
